It's the music industry pimping the black stereotype. The same stereotype that, when given voice by caucasians, causes them to be called; racists! But when exploited by black sell outs like Spike Lee et. Al, is called success. It's the same stereotype that permits "BET " to broadcast. Hip hop and rap is a culture built mainly on sex, the women have to have sex appeal, and it's become a staple that jewelry = money, and that money = power. No matter how ridiculous the "bling " is, the bigger the diamonds, the more gold or silver, the more flashy it and appealing it looks. Also it has become a staple that women or people in general can be bought, like prostitution. |
