Question: When giving examples of beautiful black women, why do people name women who are not fully black?

People use Beyonce, Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Meagan Good, etc. as examples of beautiful black women, but these women are MIXED / not fully black. Why can't 'they' use real black women as examples? Uhm, Rhianna is mixed.

Most black people are mixed. what is your point? there is no pure race. get over it. i see them as black and they identify themselves as black and they all have African features. black women are stunning :)

You can't really blame people... Most well-known black women in the media are actually mixed. Fully black women are usually women less known like Nia Long and others. I never learned their names until I came to this section. Also, in America there is something called the One Drop rule. So people consider those women to be black regardless of any admixture.

But most black women are mixed. It can be, because of their parents, grandparents, or past generations. Especially black American women. That's why we are so diverse. We have so many different skin tones, features, and hair textures.

Meagan Good isn't mixed, Nia Long isn't mixed, Gabrielle Union isn't mixed, Kenya Moore isn't mixed, Erykah Badu isn't, Laryn Hill and the list goes on. And how could I forget Garcelle Beavais, she's like the most beautiful.

Because those are the only black ( and yes they are black ) women they know. There are a lot of beatiful fully black women, most of the ones I know are models. Edit: Keonna - Those women are apsolutely gorgeous.

I believe it is because most of us are not fully black. And they name the four you listed because who else can you really think of who is fully black that everyone knows besides Harriet Tubman for example. I really don't know that many people who are fully Black/ African. Well not that I could name off the top of my head. How many "real " black women can you name. We are all more mixed than we think. My father is Jamaican/ Chinese. Grandmother Black/ Indian. I still consider myself black. I've met a few african girls who look just like me. We all are still black. u don't think? At the end of the day we were all made in God's image and likeness, so who is "really black " doesn't matter.

Get real Alicia keys may be half white but who does she support, who is her music mostly listened to by.... cum on she is black!!! and who is Meagan good mixed with you can't tell that either. BTW since we came to America because of slavery there is no one full black. I am black but my grandpa was fully indian, but guess what I am still black. My father's people are fully black and my grandmother on his side is beautiful (even she has Indian in her family). They either have a white ancestor down the line or an Indian one get real. Your ancestor probably did it with a white man or a Spanish one, once we got free we all migrated together, blacks, whites and Indians........... think about it. TYra banks is fully black and she's pretty what the freak are you really trying to say.....
