Question: Are black women who refuse to date convicts/ex-convicts/thugs/poverty stricken black men sellouts?

I mean black men make up about 50 % of the jail population. This is modern day slavery. Why dont these modern day slaves deserve love from their own women? This means that if you refuse to date a black man who have a criminal record then youre excluding a good precentage of black men who come from socioeconomically deficient backgrounds and are outcasts of society. How can a race of people expect to integrate with people who their oppressed and enslavedd them and then expect to become equal to them? Never in history have slaves become free and then tried to live amongst the people who enslaved them (and were still in power) and became equal. |

Sellout or not. People are going to do what they want and no one can stop them. I agree about integrating with oppressors and expecting to become equal being naive but thats why MLK said he had a dream that he knew only God could help us acheive. We may never be totally equal but now everyone is doing their own thing, blacks and whites are mixing at their own will and whether you like it or not things are changing, you cant control anyone. All you can do is make your own life the best you can |

Correction.. black men make up less than 7% of the population in America and make up 60% of the jail population |

Let's see. Not wanting to have a relationship with a criminal, gangster or someone without a decent job. Dude - that is 99% of women. And it makes perfect sense. There are plenty of men of every race that have managed to stay our of jail, not be a habitual scourge to society and actually hold down a job. Why would women NOT want these things in a man? |

No! I won't date a man with a criminal record because it says a lot about who he is. MAYBE if its old and is for something small, but no way! I've spent too much time studying and trying to make something of myself to go have children with a man who can't work at McDonalds because he's committed a crime. XP There ARE black men who have not committed crimes! I'm sick of people acting like they don't exist! |
